Velo focuses on improving cyclists’ safety by placing helmet dispensers at every bike kiosk, and strives to get more bikers on the streets by encouraging exploration and embodying the energy of NYC.”

Objective: “Prisons are very secretive places. It is unknown what happens beyond the visiting rooms and prison walls, and prison administrators have every intention of keeping it that way. Even when the occasional television crew or local politician is given a tour, it’s usually a highly-orchestrated, sanitized version of reality. Slam is a magazine written by members of the prison industrial system. Slam gives those incarcerated a voice to tell stories, speak about change, and bring problems to light. The incarcerated writers gain a sense of pride and confidence knowing their words are being read by the general public.”
