Title: Velo
Role: Assistant Professor, Art Director
Student: Jaime Dopplet
Digital Means: Responsive Website | Mobile Application | Apple Watch App Integration

Objective: “Navigating the NYC streets on a bicycle can be perilous due to the inability to ride on sidewalks, aggressive traffic, and overcrowded pedestrian areas. Velo is a bike and helmet sharing program that recently took over CitiBike, New York City’s original bike sharing program. Velo focuses on improving cyclists’ safety by placing helmet dispensers at every bike kiosk, and strives to get more bikers on the streets by encouraging exploration and embodying the energy of NYC.”

Persona: Brad is a 35 year old content creator working for a start up media agency in Manhattan. He makes about $75k a year before taxes, so Brad and his buddies decided to move to Bushwick, Brooklyn together to save some money. Brad hates starting his day commuting via the crowded subway. However, his office is too far from his apartment for him to walk, and he doesn’t own a bike or a car. Lucky for Brad, there is a Velo Bike and Helmet Kiosk five minutes from both his apartment and his office which he can use to safely and enjoyably get to work.

Title: Slam
Role: Assistant Professor, Art Director
Student: Jaime Dopplet
Digital Means: Responsive Website | Mobile Application

Objective: “Prisons are very secretive places. It is unknown what happens beyond the visiting rooms and prison walls, and prison administrators have every intention of keeping it that way. Even when the occasional television crew or local politician is given a tour, it’s usually a highly-orchestrated, sanitized version of reality. Slam is a magazine written by members of the prison industrial system. Slam gives those incarcerated a voice to tell stories, speak about change, and bring problems to light. The incarcerated writers gain a sense of pride and confidence knowing their words are being read by the general public.”

Persona: Leah is a 33 year old social worker living in Tampa Bay, Florida. She comes from a middle-class household with loving family members, but often works on cases featuring people from low socio-economic backgrounds. Leah has always been a social rights activist, and enjoys fighting for justice on behalf of those who cannot.
